Payments User Group – January 2010

On 26th January 2010, CMS held a meeting of its Payments User Group. The event was attended by leading UK retailers such as HMV Group plc, Iceland Foods Ltd., J Sainsbury plc, Matalan Retail Limited and Stagecoach Group plc.

Topics discussed at the session included cash-in-transit and latest observations in the market, the changing face of UK Banking Services, and the world of merchant acquiring. Peter Robinson, Commercial Manager of Payments for DSG International and former Chair of British Retail Consortium (BRC), was also in attendance as the key speaker.

Feedback gained from the session suggested that the event was beneficial to all involved; proving a great opportunity for retailers to share issues and experiences. Darren Clark, Assistant Treasurer, J. Sainsbury plc commented “Excellent subject matter, well delivered. Good open conversation.” Whilst Colleen Higgins, Procurement Manager, Matalan Retail Ltd described the event as “very informative with a good mix of expertise delivered by the speakers”.
